Since I've been in such a rut lately, I've been looking for ways to do a quick look without it being boring - and I found my solution using coloured eyeliners.
I know all of us know the "neutral eyeshadow + coloured liner on the lower lashline" look, but I love using them as liner on my lid. Depending on what colours you use, it can be bold and fun, or subtle and sultry. And it's quick and easy!
Here are some swatches of my favourite liners:
Left to right:
Annabelle Kohl e/l in Celadon - this is a very light green that I love to use under MAC's Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow.

Annabelle Kohl e/l in Black Pearl - a nice grey liner that I like to use sometimes instead of a harsh black eyeliner.

Annabelle Kohl e/l in Indigo (on lid)
MAC Deep Truth e/s (on top of liner to give it demension)
Annabelle Kohl e/l in Celadon (on lower lashline)
MAC Sweet & Punchy e/s (on top of Celadon e/l)
Bonne Bell Eye Definer in Glow (on waterline)
NYX l/g in Natural
I love Annabelle kohl eyeliners especially because a) they're cheap! and b) they come in a nice variety of colours and finishes.
I usually use a coordinating eyeshadow on top of the liner to bring the colour out more and to help it last longer.
If you're looking for a way to brighten up your dull boring make-up (lol) then try out coloured liners. Depending on the colour it can be noticable or - like I mentioned before - subtle.
If you're scared of using a bright colour, try a darker version of a colour. For example, instead of a bright blue, use a navy coloured liner. It won't be noticable from far away, but it's a nice surprise when you're up close.
