The Good, Bad, Ugly - Wet n' Wild Pride Palette + FOTD

The start of the week shows that this week definitely won't be in my favour. Saturday I was in the hospital (a mishap related with my diabetes - I'm better now though), and my boyfriend of one year broke up with me yesterday. :(

Hopefully things will look up. *fingers crossed*

A while back I caved in and purchased one of the new Wet n' Wild palettes everyone has been raving about. Of course, the Pride palette was the one that spoke out to me with it's beautiful teal blues and navy's.

Of course this palette wasn't something I spent a silver dollar on. I believe I payed $4.00 CDN before tax for it from Wal-Mart. And I must say, I'm pretty happy with my purchase! I think I'm definitely going to go back and pick up the other palettes. Even though I probably have dupes of most of the colours, its nice to have it in convenient palette form.

The Good:
- The price! I got this on sale for $4.00CDN, but I believe regular price can be around $5.99-$6.99CDN so they're definitely an affordable option.
- I love that this palette has 3 matte shades, and 3 shimmery shades. I feel like this definitely adds to the overall versatility of the palette. You can definitely mix and match to create a variety of looks.
- I feel like this palette is fool proof, especially for beginners. If you want to venture out into colour you have a bunch of looks right in this palette. For example, if you want to do a navy look, apply the darkest shimmery colour all over your lid, and the darkest matte colour into the outer corner and crease.
- These colours do not lack pigmentation at all!

The Bad:
- Some sort of base or primer is recommended with this palette. It makes the colours more pigmented and brighter.
- The colours do have a bit of fall out, as they crumble a bit when you pick up colour with your brush - so be sure to tap off any excess before applying.

The Ugly:
- The top right colour is my least favourite because it's not as smooth as the other colours and it has chunky glitter.

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up more of these Wet n' Wild Color Icon palettes. Plus, there are tons of MAC dupes in these palettes aswell!

Here are some swatches:

Without a primer.

With UDPP as a primer.

*All colours are swatched with a flat shader brush*

Here's a quick look I did today with using just this palette:

USED:
NARS Smudgeproof eye primer
Wet n' Wild Color Icon Pride Palette:
a) middle right colour - inner two thirds of lid and on lower lashline.
b) last right colour - outer third/crease of lid.
c) middle left colour - tear duct.
d) top left colour - as highlight.
d) top right colour - right under brow arch.
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
Rimmel Max Volume Flash mascara
Bonne Bell Eye Definer e/l in Glow (on waterline)
MAC Night Maneuvers e/s (to fill brows)

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus
MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW30 on under-eye circles
NARS Deep Throat blush
NARS Albatross blush

Rimmel Moisture Renew l/s in Nude Delight
Annabelle Lip Shine in Breathless

Have any of you picked up any of these palettes? Any recommendations for the next one I should purchase?

Haha you're not an idiot! I don't blame you it really does feel nice as a moisturizer and not crazy greasy either! I know Pond's has an actual moisturizer, I used that one before and I found it to be too thick and greasy and would only use a few dots at a time. I occasionally will use it as a body moisturizer or during the winter when my skin is super dry, but this cold cream does the job too it seems!
